Description
Lupinus ‘Blue Shades’ is a beautiful perennial known for its tall spires of blue-toned flowers, ranging from soft sky blue to deeper indigo shades. These striking flower spikes rise gracefully above lush green foliage, creating an eye-catching display that brings elegance and vertical structure to borders and mixed planting schemes. The blooms are particularly attractive to bees and other pollinators, making it both a decorative and ecologically valuable addition to the garden.
This cultivar thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soil and prefers a sunny position, though it will tolerate partial shade. Flowering in early to midsummer, ‘Blue Shades’ provides weeks of vibrant colour and is valued for its hardy, low-maintenance nature. Its combination of ornamental impact, wildlife appeal, and reliable performance makes it a versatile choice for gardeners seeking to brighten their borders with a bold splash of blue.
