Description
Laura is an ornamental crab apple tree valued for its compact habit, attractive spring blossom and decorative red fruits. The tree forms a neat, rounded canopy with fresh green foliage and produces small, bright red apples that add colour through autumn. The fruit is sharp and firm, making it suitable for cooking, jellies and preserves rather than fresh eating.
In spring, Laura is covered in white flowers lightly flushed with pink, which are rich in nectar and pollen and highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. It grows reliably in fertile, well drained soil and performs best in a sunny position, where flowering and fruiting are most abundant. Well suited to UK gardens, Laura offers strong ornamental appeal alongside valuable ecological benefits.
