If you are looking for a plant that adds a touch of moonlight to your garden even on the brightest days, Woolly Senecio (Senecio haworthii) is your answer. This stunning succulent, often called the Cocoon Plant, is wrapped in a dense, silvery-white felt that reflects the sun and protects it from the heat. Growing into a tidy, upright shrub about 12 inches tall and 24 inches wide, it is the perfect size for adding structural contrast to your favorite patio containers. This desert native craves 6 or more hours of full sun to maintain its brilliant white color and tight, compact shape. Best of all, that unique woolly texture is more than just a pretty face; it acts as a natural deterrent, making the plant exceptionally resistant to deer and rabbits that typically look for more tender greens. Plant it in well-draining cactus soil, water only when the leaves feel a bit soft, and you will have a resilient, eye-catching companion for years to come.
