Description
Penstemon Dark Towers is a striking perennial known for its tall, upright spikes of deep purple to almost black tubular flowers, creating a dramatic contrast against its bright green foliage. The blooms appear in early to midsummer and attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, adding both visual and ecological value to garden borders. Its architectural form makes it ideal for mixed perennial beds, cottage gardens, or as a standout feature in larger planting schemes.
This hardy perennial prefers well-drained soil and thrives in a sunny position. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond occasional deadheading to prolong flowering and cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh growth. Its nectar-rich flowers provide a valuable food source for pollinators, while the strong stems and long-lasting blooms ensure both ornamental and seasonal appeal. Penstemon Dark Towers combines bold colour with resilience, making it a striking addition to summer garden displays.
